We provide a human service to watch your child's computer remotely. It is our duty to notify a subscribed parent of impending or potential physical harm to their child as soon as we become aware of its possibility. While we watch for plans of physically meeting a stranger, premeditated school violence, and contemplated suicide, there is nothing that can stop your child from walking out of your house except you, the parent. Early warning is what we provide you in the fight against online predation - knowledge of your child's plans that could result in their own physical harm. We cannot guarantee 100% effectiveness of our service, because a child is aware of a WatchMyKidsPC icon that appears in the system tray, and because a balloon pops up at computer startup (for a few seconds) informing any user that your computer is protected by WatchMyKidsPC. In other words, while we have made it extraordinarily difficult for a child to fool us, technically speaking, fooling us is not absolutely impossible. The clever child who is intent on committing a crime or meeting a stranger will find a way. By subscribing to WatchMyKidsPC, you have shifted the odds into your favor; i.e., you have decreased the likelihood that your child's computer can be used as a communicaton device to meet a stranger, to plan school violence or a suicide attempt; you have made your child's computer safer.
